Note to Instructors: About The Advocacy Project
Note to Instructors
Advocacy Project:
Children, Families, Schools, Communities
This semester-long, scaffolded project is designed to synthesize content, debates, explorations, and student-choice, and student-interest. It addresses the following course-level learning outcomes:
- Understand how children, families, schools, and communities collaborate with and influence one another;
- Identify strengths-based approaches to creating culturally sustaining collaborations.
Please note that this assignment and assessment checklists were designed for a course using an “un-grading” strategy. Rubrics are not used in this particular course. The checklists are designed to guide students on areas of priority and needed improvement. All assignments in this project can be revised and resubmitted based on instructor feedback.
